Today’s Adventure: I needed a lesson on how to make a really good avocado smash.
JAM FACT: Avocados are good for my heart health. I have a whole one very day.
When the heart dietitian first told me about a breakfast Avocado Smash I just assumed that you smashed the avocado onto the toast. I was doing this for some time – smashing the avocado on the toast and most mornings found that the toast was pretty smashed too;tasted really good but a bit of a mess on the plate, as you can imagine.
At sewing one day my good friends told me – no UNYOUNG JAM you smash the avocado in a bowl first – with the added flavours and then spread onto the toast. Well I can tell you my breakfast plates are much more orderly now, toast remains in one piece and I also learnt that it goes really, really well with a dash of lime. [I used all the juice from a whole lime at first but believe me that definitely does not work! Just a dash is good.]
I usually have an avocado salad or similar when I lunch out too. I don’t have an avocado tree in our mini orchard but I must get one seeing as I eat so many.
