WINTER.

Love this banksia.

Today’s Adventure:  Enjoying the spoils of winter.

Jam Fact: Summer is my favourite season.

Winter is well and truly upon us here in my part of the world. I would even go so far as to say it is here with a vengeance.

The rain part of the winter season has been most welcome. I love the rain, especially when I am lying in my warm bed with a good book and listening to it pitter pattering on our tin roof but…Isn’t there always a but? Well it appears there is where this little UNYOUNG JAM is concerned.

I do not like the very cold temperatures that have arrived here with those welcome rains.  Our recent maximums have barely been registering above 12 degrees and that in my book is cold with a capital C.

Still the 50 odd daffodil /tulip bulbs I planted some weeks ago after their must do stint in the fridge, have started to sprout so, like the lupin seeds in the front paddock which are also happily sprouting, they are obviously enjoying this burst of cold, so who am I to complain.

I can certainly suffer these cold, bleak wintry days when there are…warm soups, tasty stews [yes the slow cooker has been unearthed out of the back of the cupboard and is now ensconced on the bench top]  delicious heart healthy baked biscuits, flavoursome coffees and a good book or two… all on offer.

So here’s to the winter season; may it bring the rains we need and as it is here to stay for a while yet, I will rug up and stay as warm as I can until these freezing low maximums give way to some warmer temperatures.

Until next time…take care.

WINTER DROPS.
