I MARCH ON.

Pic No. 1. I practise my newly learned ‘focus’ skills on Mum’s Iceberg Rose.

TODAY’S ADVENTURE:  The 31 days of March have been and gone.

JAM FACT: I like to think laterally sometimes.

I wasn’t sure if I could find two new things to do this month [New Year promise to self] seeing as I was laid up with the three foot fractures in a moon boot and virtually confined to rest.

The situation definitely made me think outside the square and as I reflect back over the days of March, I think I can honestly say that I did manage to fulfil the promise, even if the activities I found weren’t that adventurous.

  • I commenced a knitting project. Now knitting and I don’t necessarily go together so it has been a bit of a challenge for me to turn what the pattern says into a reality. [Buying the pattern from a NZ yarn store and negotiating the NZ /AU dollar market was a challenge in itself but in the end I acquired the pattern via a PDF and then managed to purchase some very nice Aussie wool online.] The project is still a work in progress but at this stage the end result looks to be very promising.  I even would go so far as to say that when it is finished, my new sleeveless-with collar, knitted vest is going to be very wearable indeed. So a good project choice UNYOUNG JAM!
  • I continued my Tech Savvy journey. Firstly I checked, updated and learnt how to safely save on my laptop [well as safe as you can be] all my passwords. I also made a new handwritten version and in the process discovered and discarded many websites I no longer use. I was very happy that I was able to streamline it all without too much drama so it was a good effort, even if I say so myself. Secondly I took a short lesson on how to save/delete/enlarge/zoom my photos on the digital camera. Now that took a bit more concentration I must say but now that I have learnt those few settings on my camera, I find it so easy to do and I think my photos are the better for it.  [Not sure why I didn’t learn it sooner!]

So whilst my two new things for the month are not that exciting, they did challenge this UNYOUNG JAM’S thinking and as that is the exact purpose of this year’s New Year musing’s to self, I consider that in the scheme of things, I have done okay.

Here’s to some exciting April happenings here in my part of the world.

Until next time…have a great weekend.

Pic No. 2. The Elephant Ears on the back veranda. I think I captured the leaf detail with the new found camera light setting.
